Prismara SpacesHow-to guide
Sync files to your computer with Spaces Sync
Spaces Sync is the desktop app for Prismara Spaces. It keeps the libraries and folders you choose in sync with a folder on your computer, so you can work on files with your usual apps and file manager. Changes you make on your computer are uploaded, and changes your colleagues make appear on your computer.
The same app also syncs your personal files from Prismara Geode.
Before you begin
Section titled “Before you begin”- You need a Prismara account with access to Prismara Spaces. If you can’t open

- Check that your computer meets the system requirements and has enough free disk space for the files you want to sync.

Pair your computer and choose what to sync
Section titled “Pair your computer and choose what to sync”You don’t type your password into Spaces Sync. Instead, you pair the computer with your account: Spaces Sync shows a short code, and you approve it in your browser, where you’re already signed in. The computer then gets its own access to your spaces, which you can remove at any time.
-
In Spaces Sync, select Pair this computer. Spaces Sync shows a link and a pairing code, for example

You can also start syncing from the browser: open a library in Prismara Spaces and select Sync. Spaces Sync opens and adds the library to your selection.
Understand the status icons
Section titled “Understand the status icons”Spaces Sync shows a status icon on each file and folder in your file manager.
| Icon | Status | What it means |
|---|---|---|
| Green tick | Up to date | The file on your computer matches the copy in Prismara Spaces. |
| Blue arrows | Syncing | Changes are being uploaded or downloaded. |
| Yellow pause symbol | Paused | Syncing is paused. Your changes are kept and sync when you resume. |
| Red cross | Not synced | Something stopped the file from syncing. Select the Spaces Sync icon to see why. |
If the same file is changed on your computer and somewhere else before it syncs, Spaces Sync keeps both versions. One keeps the original name, and the other gets a name such as Report (conflict copy from LAPTOP-01).odt. Compare the two and keep the one you need. See Troubleshoot Prismara Spaces.
