Glossary
Terms you’ll meet across the Prismara apps, in alphabetical order. Each product’s documentation explains its own features in more detail.
Admin centre — Prismara Admin, where administrators manage users, licences, service health and usage for the whole organisation.
App launcher — The grid button in the top-left corner of every Prismara app that takes you to any other app you’re licensed for. See Use the app launcher.
Collection (Prismara Prism) — A shared folder of passwords and other items that a team can use. See Share items and collections.
Conflict copy (Spaces Sync) — A second copy of a file that Spaces Sync keeps when the same file was changed in two places at once, so neither person’s changes are lost.
Delegated administration — When a managed service provider (partner) administers your organisation with permissions you’ve agreed to. See Delegated administration.
Device pairing — Approving a new computer for Spaces Sync by checking a short code in your browser, instead of typing your password into the computer. See Sync files to your computer.
EDR (endpoint detection and response) — Software on each computer that detects, blocks and helps you respond to attacks. Provided by Prismara Endpoint Security.
Enrolment — Registering a device with Prismara Core so your organisation can apply settings, check compliance and deliver apps.
Geode — Your personal drive in Prismara Work — the home for your own files. Team content belongs in Spaces.
Library (Prismara Spaces) — A collection of folders and files inside a space, like a document library. See Prismara Spaces.
Licence — Permission for one person to use one Prismara app. Administrators assign licences in Prismara Admin.
Managed Prismara — Prismara delivered as a fully managed service by SovSec — deployed, run, secured and supported for you. See How Prismara is delivered.
MFA (multi-factor authentication) — Signing in with something in addition to your password, such as a passkey or a code from an app.
MXDR (managed extended detection and response) — A service in which security analysts watch signals from across your organisation and respond to threats for you. Provided by Prismara SOC.
OpenDocument (ODF) — The open international standard for office files (.odt, .ods, .odp) that Prismara Work is built around. See File formats.
Passkey — A phishing-resistant way to sign in that uses your device’s fingerprint, face or PIN instead of a password.
Post-quantum cryptography — Encryption designed to stay secure against future quantum computers. Built into every Prismara app. See Post-quantum security.
Preview — A product that’s available but still changing quickly. Features, labels and screens may change, and guides are published as features are released.
Secure incident chat — An out-of-band chat with SovSec’s security team in Prismara Portal that you use when you suspect an attack.
Sensitivity label — A tag such as Public, Internal or Confidential that describes how sensitive a file is and how it should be protected. Managed with Prismara Gov.
SIEM (security information and event management) — A system that collects security events from across your organisation so they can be searched and correlated. Prismara SOC acts as your SIEM.
Single sign-on (SSO) — Signing in once to reach every app you use. Prismara apps use Prismara Identity, or your Microsoft work account while you move.
Space (Prismara Spaces) — A team or project area containing libraries, folders and files, with its own members and permissions — like a SharePoint site.
Tenant — Your organisation’s own private instance of Prismara, set up for you by SovSec or your partner.
TLS inspection — When a proxy or firewall decrypts and re-encrypts web traffic to examine it. It removes post-quantum protection and can stop Prismara desktop apps connecting. See Prismara app addresses.
UEM (unified endpoint management) — Managing settings, compliance and apps on computers, phones and tablets from one place. Provided by Prismara Core.
Vault (Prismara Prism) — Your personal, encrypted store of passwords and other secrets.
ZTNA (zero-trust network access) — Reaching private apps only after your identity and device have been checked, without a traditional VPN. Provided by Prismara ZTNA.
