Install the Prismara Prism desktop app

The Prism desktop app lets you browse, search and organise your vault without opening a browser. When the browser extension is installed on the same computer, the two connect, so unlocking one unlocks the other.
Before you begin
Section titled “Before you begin”- You need a Prismara account with access to Prismara Prism. If you can’t open
https://prism.prismara.euin your browser, ask your administrator to assign it to you. - Check that your computer meets the system requirements.
- On a managed work device, your IT team may install the app for you. If installation is blocked, contact your IT team rather than trying to work around it.
Install the app
Section titled “Install the app”-
Open Software from the applications menu.

Search for Prismara Prism.

Select Install. If you’re asked for your password, enter the password you use to sign in to the computer.

Open Prismara Prism from the applications menu.

Sign in to the web vault in your browser at
https://prism.prismara.eu. -
Select your profile picture, then select Get the desktop app > Windows.

Open the downloaded file,
PrismaraPrismSetup.exe. -
If Windows asks whether to allow the app to make changes, select Yes.

Follow the installer and select Finish. Prismara Prism opens and adds a shortcut to the Start menu.

Sign in to the web vault in your browser at
https://prism.prismara.eu. -
Select your profile picture, then select Get the desktop app > macOS.

Open the downloaded file,
PrismaraPrism.dmg. -
Drag Prismara Prism into the Applications folder.

Open Prismara Prism from Applications. If macOS asks whether you’re sure you want to open it, select Open.

Sign in to the web vault in your browser at
https://prism.prismara.eu. -
Select your profile picture, then select Get the desktop app > Linux, and choose the package for your distribution: .deb (Debian, Ubuntu) or .rpm (Fedora, RHEL).

Install the package with your software centre, or in a terminal:

Open Prismara Prism from your applications menu.
Sign in and unlock
Section titled “Sign in and unlock”-
In Prismara Prism, select Sign in with Prismara. Your default browser opens the Prismara sign-in page.

Sign in with your Prismara account and complete multi-factor authentication if prompted.

When your browser asks to open Prismara Prism, select Open Prismara Prism.

Unlock your vault. If your organisation allows it and your computer supports it, select Set up passkey unlock to unlock with Windows Hello, Touch ID or your device’s passkey in future.

If the browser extension is installed, select Settings > Browser integration and turn on Connect browser extensions.

Verify
Section titled “Verify”The app shows My vault and any collections you have access to. Lock the app with Lock in the top bar, then unlock it again to check your unlock method works.
