Delegated administration

Many organisations have a managed service provider — a partner — who helps run their IT. With delegated administration, your partner can administer your Prismara organisation for you without needing a separate account in it.
How it works
Section titled “How it works”Prismara organisations are arranged in three levels:
| Level | Who | What they do |
|---|---|---|
| SovSec | The company behind Prismara | Provides the Prismara apps and works with partners. |
| Partner | Your managed service provider, for example Fabrikam | Sets up and helps run the organisations of the customers they look after. |
| Your organisation | You, for example Contoso | Uses the Prismara apps and decides who can manage them. |
A partner can only administer the customer organisations they look after, and only with the permissions you have agreed to. For example, you might allow your partner to manage users and licences but not to change admin roles.
If SovSec set up your organisation directly and you have no partner, this page doesn’t apply to you.
What a partner can see and do
Section titled “What a partner can see and do”Depending on the permissions you agreed, a partner can:
- Add, block and remove users, and assign licences.
- Check service health and view usage reports for your organisation.
- Help you troubleshoot problems from Admin.
What a partner does in your organisation is recorded, so you can see who made a change. A partner cannot see into the content of your apps, such as chats or files, through delegated administration.
Review partner access
Section titled “Review partner access”Go to Settings > Partner relationships in Admin. For each partner you see their name, the permissions they have and when the relationship started.
Remove a partner’s access
Section titled “Remove a partner’s access”You need the Global administrator role.
-
Select Settings > Partner relationships.
-
Select the partner’s name, for example Fabrikam.
-
Select Remove access.
-
Read the confirmation, then select Remove.
The partner can no longer administer your organisation. Your users, licences and data are not affected.
